Facial lines, creases and wrinkles are just a part of ageing and are harmless. However, some people don’t like them and may want to reduce them or prolong getting them. Anti wrinkle treatment is a safe treatment option which rejuvenates and rolls back the years, without the need for surgical procedures.

A fully qualified dentist, Dr Payal, has an intimate understanding of the facial muscle movement. Further training means she has acquired skills to inject with a high degree of skill & precision.

Operating under stringent guidelines laid out by the Care Quality Commission and General Dental Council, you will find our dentist fully qualified, trained and insured to deliver cosmetic procedures. What happens during the procedure?

It all starts with an anti wrinkle treatment consultation to understand your needs. Following the meeting and assessment, provided you are medically suitable to receive the treatment, a small amount of solution is injected directly into the wrinkles and creases. The procedure lasts about 10 minutes and is not painful. For added comfort, we can apply a cream, so you don’t feel the scratch from the injection.

A minimal amount of the solution is injected into the muscles in the face using a small needle. Depending on the area being treated, there may be a series of injections. While it takes ten days for the procedure to have the full effect, noticeable intermittent results are visible 3-5 days after the process.

How long does it take?

Initial planning is the key to successful completion of the treatment, and that’s why we offer consultations for all our wrinkle reduction treatments.

From start to finish, the treatment lasts about 10 minutes.

Who treats me?

Dr Payal Bhalla, the principal dentist at our surgery delivers all our facial rejuvenation treatments. A practising dentist with 11 years of experience, Payal has trained for Facial Aesthetics at Harley Street under the guidance of renowned cosmetic dentists in the UK.

She has registration with the General Dental Council, fully indemnified and insured practitioner. She has also been recognised by Invisalign as an ‘Elite Provider’ one of the few in Suffolk.

How does it work?

Our dentists use anti wrinkle injections in small quantities to treat the facial lines. As it is a prescription medicine, it is essential to ensure that qualified and trained professionals only administer this treatment.

The treatment smooths facial lines by blocking the nerve impulses in the injected muscles.

What areas can it treat?

It is a versatile treatment option that generally works best on the upper half of the face such as forehead lines, frown lines around eyebrows, smoker’s lines and crow’s feet.

What all does it involve?

Treatment planning is an essential part of this procedure. We insist on a full consultation before the treatment as it allows us to understand your expectations and choose the right quantities of anti wrinkle injections. During treatment, we apply a cream to numb the area and then proceed with injecting medicine through a fine needle.

The results?

From day 3 onwards the wrinkles start smoothening, with full effects becoming apparent in around 10-15 days. Each case is different so you can expect the results to last between 3-9 months.

Will it look natural?

Our qualified practitioner can use the injections in particular muscles to help you achieve a natural look, avoiding the frozen, dreaded wind-tunnel look.

Any downsides?

Spot bruising, redness or inflammation are the most common side effects; however, they are temporary and are rare. Allergic reactions are other down-side; however, the allergies are discussed by your practitioner during the consultation.

How will I know that I am suitable for anti wrinkle treatment?

Our facial aesthetic practitioners at Ipswich Dental Surgery are trained to a high level and will go through a full consultation and rigorous assessment process, including a thorough medical history.

As part of the initial consultation, the practitioner will understand your expectations, look at your facial muscles and factor in your medical history before presenting a treatment plan.

Is there an ideal age for anti wrinkle treatments?

It is a matter of personal preference. Some patients start receiving treatments at the first sign of wrinkles and tired skin. Most of our clients start in their early 30s or 40s and have regular top-ups. We do not provide this treatment to anybody under the age of 18.
